Done: Spindolyn Bean Bag

Remember that Alpaca yarn I dyed, and redyed because I hated how it came out the first time? If not you can find that post here.

Maybe I was a bit harsh on it. It looks good with those white places!

Bottom is filled with wax pellets.

So dramatic the scene outside my window!

WIP: Spinning Lessons -- Single Samples

Here is another instalment of my spinning those samples I got in the other day.

This is nice bright fibre once it was spun up!

I had some "help" trying to take pictures.

This is what is on the spindolyn now.
100% Superwash, treated merino from Freyalyn's Hand-dyed Fibres
This fibre is hard to spin, you have to put a lot of twist in it to feel like it will stay together. That may just be me and my preferences but I am slowly working through it!
Up-close of that spinning. It is turning out beautifully!

WIP: Spinning Lessons -- Single Samples

So in-between knitting, crocheting and french knitting, I decided to do a bit of spinning... ok so a lot of spinning. For those who are new to my blog I have two spindles, a high-whorl and my new spindolyn. I do not have a spinning wheel.
My High-Whorl Spindle

So, I finished all of my red fibre I was working on. I don't know what possessed
me to put it back on my high-whorl spindle to store but I did.

Spindoyln:

I just love this single!

Oooh, soo pretty!

This is just pretty and it sparkles slightly.

A static laced house plus this silk
equals one tough spin.

Done: Pumpkin Kitty and Baby Kitty

Finally I have finished my baby kitty version of the pumpkin kitty. It was really hard on the fingers with smaller holes to try and get the needle through the holes. But it is done!!

WIP: Pumpkins Crochet-along

Doing up the lobes. This yarn isn't liking the tension I am putting on it.

Looks like a pumpkin to me... Won't look so real soon.

WIP: Pumpkins Crochet-along

There is a crochet-along going on! Are you a part of it? If not click on the pumpkin badge I have or you can click HERE. This is a great pattern and it is fun! The idea is to customize the pumpkin in your own style.

Here is the beautiful yarn I am using! Hand spun and dyed in Scotland.
Going to add this to my Ravelry account.

It is a fun thing to do and it is amigurumi based!

WIP: Spinning Lessons -- Dyeing

Using some food dyes these are my 1st few attempts at dyeing.
This was attempt #1. Lovely blues, greens, and yellows.

This was #2. It was dyed in shape so there are white lines (as you can see at the top) between the stitches.
