Cross stitch fun!

So my blog has been fiber-less for a few days... Not anymore!! Here are my things to do with needlepoint and cross stitch!

My sample from John James Needles. I was going to have a Mary Arden Petites
but "cough" out of stock so they sent me more JJ petites. LOL.

So in order: Gold plated, Mary Arden Easy Threading, Threaders, JJ petites, and the Quick stitch twin pointed needles.

What about that random grey scale needle point, PPk? LOL. Here it is! I haven't updated the counter...yet.

Sometimes you get tired of stitching every other stitch a different color so I moved on to BIG blocks of color!

WIP: Needlepoint Greyscale

So what have I been doing? 1. Reading for my PhD (really I am) and 2. Needlepoint... lots and lots of it.

I may not be quick but I am up to 1200 stitches! If I have an uninterrupted day I can get 4 rows of 80 done a day, but sadly life does not allow for such luxuries! Anyone guess what it is yet?

No it isn't a cloud... Hint: its a famous pencil drawing.

Top brown dotted line is the 10 stitches grid,
side dotted brown line is the length of one page and end place for the image,
and the brown line below my stitches is
 the marker for the end of the next 10x10 block.

This thing has only 13 colors and this part alone uses 10 of them (one taggy thing is not visible). I got line by line and do one color then another. Normally I start with the most prevalent color but its just which ones come first in the line. So i work right to left then left to right ect. All but the first 10x10 block is done in half stitch (I just couldn't bring myself to tear out the full cross stitches). Thankfully this is the "background" to a main image that does not have that many colors.

Yeah there are 60 stitches there... of 134,000. No kidding. It is a gift I hope to finish, erm... eventually?

Kitty 6: I am a Fibre Artist.

At the end of the day, one must be true to oneself. My real motivation is my artwork. Right now I am into fibre arts which I know will be a passion for the rest of my life. So to celebrate that I found some small momentos on Etsy. Becka Rahn in conjunction with her husband made these beautiful ornaments that went well with my tribute to fibre artists everywhere!

Here is my tribute to all fibre artists out there! And how can you dislike such
cute little designs. They are all about 1.0-2.0 inches (2.54-5.08cm).

 Just for a closer view of each, they are all ornaments.

I couldn't resist really with this one.

I saw this one in a blog post which is where I discovered the artist!
